Grant Applications in Preparation
The doors we are preparing, and their published deadlines.
Nothing has been submitted to any funder, and nothing has been awarded. This page changes on the day that does. Money would go first to the first printed scarves and a French version of the journey. Doors that open only to an Indigenous applicant are for Indigenous co-authors to decide on, and this page lists none of them. An earlier version of this page showed three draft applications with dollar figures; those drafts are set aside.
Two arts-council doors stay shut to us today. The Ontario Arts Council's Media Artists Creation Projects and the Canada Council's Explore and Create both require the applicant to be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and the person behind this project holds a work permit. The Ontario Arts Council door opens once an application for permanent residence is pending; the Canada Council door opens once permanent residence is granted, or when an eligible co-creator leads the work.
Shevchenko Foundation · Film and Media Arts
Applicant: INNOVA CONSULT LTD. The Foundation's individual streams are closed to a work-permit holder, so the company applies.
City of Ottawa · Equity and Inclusion in the Arts, Grow
Applicant: the project's creator, as an individual. This is the one door open to him in his own name.
Canadian Heritage · Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program, Events
Applicant: the Ukrainian Community of Lanark County, for a spring 2027 event.
